Hiking tour: "Höllentalklamm - Höllentalangerhütte"

At the Kurhaus in Grainau we start together via the Oberer Dorfplatz in the direction of the mountain forest below the Waxensteine. After some time, the small Höllentaleingangshütte appears at the top of the rock face. Once again there are a few steep hairpin bends to negotiate, then the Höllental entrance hut is reached and with it the entrance to the Höllentalklamm gorge. Directly behind the entrance, a small museum invites you to visit: It is about the history of mining in the Höllental. The path quickly becomes narrower and we feel our way along the path that has been blasted into the rock above the mountain stream. It leads - well secured - over bridges and through sparsely lit tunnels. Directly behind the gorge, the valley widens and the path continues upward in serpentines. Then the Upper Höllental opens up and provides a view of the peaks of the Waxensteine, Riffelwände and the Höllentalferner. After the hike, we have earned a snack at the Höllentalangerhütte before heading back down into the valley.
