General information

Conditions of participation and data protection regulations

Participation in the competition "Advent magic" of the Grainau Tourist Information Office (hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer") is free of charge and is based exclusively on the following conditions of participation.

Procedure of the competition

The competition will take place from 30.11.2025 to 24.12.2025.
A new competition starts every Sunday in Advent. Participants can take part in the respective Advent competition from Sunday, 20:00 to Sunday, 24:00.

Participation

The competition will be run in parallel on Facebook and Instagram.
One overall winner will be determined for each Advent competition. All valid entries from both platforms flow into a joint lottery pot.

Participation takes place when the participant

1. liked the competition post,
2. follows the Instagram page of the organizer and
3. answers the winning question in the comment or marks a person with whom they would like to visit Grainau.

Several comments from one participant will be counted as a single entry.
The winner will be drawn at random from all valid entries.

Comments that violate the Instagram/Facebook guidelines, German law or copyrights will be removed as soon as we become aware of them. The participant in question will be excluded from the prize.

Comments received after the closing date will not be considered.
Participation is free of charge and does not depend on the purchase of goods or services.

 Eligible participants

Natural persons resident in Germany who have reached the age of 18 are eligible to participate.
If a participant has limited legal capacity, the consent of their legal representative is required.

Employees of the municipality of Grainau and affiliated companies are excluded.
Participation under a false identity or in the name of a third party is not permitted.

The organizer reserves the right to exclude participants for justified reasons, in particular in the case of:
a) manipulation in connection with access to or execution of the competition,
b) breaches of these conditions of participation,
c) unfair trading,
d) false or misleading information.

Prize, notification and prize transfer

The following prizes will be awarded:

1. Advent: Winter starter set (e.g. teddy bear, rucksack, tube scarf)
2. Advent: Wellness set (natural soap, cosmetic bag, sauna/spa voucher)
3. Advent: On-the-go set (lunch box, water bottle, headband)
4. Advent: Grand prize: paragliding tandem flight 🪂

The winner will be announced in the comments on the Tuesday after each Advent and will also be notified by private message.

The prize will be handed over in person or by post. Cash payment is excluded.
Shipping costs will be borne by the organizer. Any costs incurred in connection with the use of the prize shall be borne by the winner. The winner is responsible for any taxes incurred on the prize.

The winner must respond within 5 working days of receiving the private message. If no response is received, the prize will be raffled again among all participants.

Termination of the competition

The organizer reserves the right to terminate the competition at any time without prior notice if there are reasons that disrupt or make it impossible for the competition to run smoothly.

The winners will be selected in a random draw after the closing date for entries.

Data protection

Personal data must be provided in order to take part in the competition. The participant assures that all information provided - in particular name and e-mail address - is correct.

Personal data will only be used to carry out the competition and will not be passed on to third parties without consent.

The publicly visible Facebook/Instagram names of the participants will be recorded. This data will be stored to determine the winner and deleted no later than 30 days after the end of the competition. The comments made under the competition post will remain publicly visible.

Participants are entitled to the statutory rights to information, amendment and revocation.

The competition is in no way connected to Facebook or Instagram and is neither sponsored nor supported by them.

Applicable law

The competition is subject exclusively to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Legal recourse is excluded.

Severability clause

Should individual provisions of these conditions of participation be wholly or partially invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
The invalid provision shall be replaced by the statutory provision that comes closest to the meaning and purpose of the omitted provision. The same applies to any loopholes.
