Ski tours

Most people are probably familiar with the option of gliding down the piste on skis in well-formed turns. But it also works the other way round: ski touring. The ascent is of course more strenuous than the descent, but you are at one with nature as you move and enjoy the magnificent views. At the top at the latest, you are rewarded with a picture-book panorama and the anticipation of the upcoming descent.

Here in the Zugspitz village of Grainau, the "Riffelriss" ski run is a popular ascent route for ambitious skiers.

For beginners and those who would like to get a taste of it, the Eckbauer, located in the neighboring village of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is the perfect place. There is an informative ski touring trail there.

The Wank panoramic mountain is also very popular. In winter, this belongs entirely to traditional climbers. You can enjoy a nature experience without the hustle and bustle and an unforgettable descent into the valley.
