• Bus Number 9840 from Garmisch- Grainau-Eibsee
• The guest bus Bayern-Tirol is still in operation on the route Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Grainau - Tirol during the peak visitor months.
• The local green buses in Garmisch-Partenkirchen provide bus connections within the town.
• Regionally, the RVO is in operation.
• Flixbuses from Munich and Innsbruck stop at the train station square in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

There are excellent connections from almost all major German cities to Garmisch-Partenkirchen station. There you have to change trains to get to Grainau into the Bavarian Zugspitzbahn to Hammersbach and Obergrainau.
Should you arrive after 8 pm or wish to take the comfort of a taxi, these are available just in front of Garmisch-Partenkirchen train station.

    Important:

• When searching on the DB server, enter Untergrainau as the destination station.
•     For trains with a stop in Munich-Pasing, it is usually more convenient to change trains there.
•     You can find your train connection to Grainau here: www.bahn.de

Free bus connection for holiday guests of the Zugspitz Arena Bayern-Tirol

The cross-border cooperation partners of the Zugspitz Arena Bayern-Tirol, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Zugspitzdorf Grainau and the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena could win the coach company Zoller from Lermoos as a partner for the guest bus.

The bus runs during the high season.
The route is from Lermoos Unterdorf - Ehrwald Bahnhof – Bahnhof Untergrainau – Schmölz, Abzweigung Grainau – Bahnhof Garmisch (Westseite bei Bhf. Zugspitzbahn) – Marienplatz Garmisch (Stop Alpspitzstraße) and back

E-Bikes are not allowed.

The Deutschlandticket is not valid in the bus.

All guests are entitled to drive in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena, the municipality of Grainau and the market town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen with a valid guest card (GaPa Guestcard, GuestCard Grainau, guest card of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena).

Whether hikers or day-trippers, the guest bus Bavaria-Tyrol is an additional service for guests who like to travel without a car on site.

Coming from the north

Take the A95 freeway to the end.Then follow the B2 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen.Immediately after the tunnel take the first exit towards Grainau and follow the signs until you are in the beautiful Zugspitzdorf Grainau.

If you’re driving down the A7, continue to its end. It automatically leads you onto the B179. Take exit B187 towards Garmisch/Ehrwald/Lermoos. Then the B23 leads you to Grainau.

Driving down the A8 in the direction of Augsburg, take the B17 via Landsberg am Lech and then the B23. The B2 then takes you to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Follow the signs to your holiday destination Grainau.

Coming from the South

Coming from the South, take the E533 and then the B2 all the way to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Follow the signs to Grainau (Mittenwald - Klais - Kaltenbrunn - Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Grainau).

Another option to get to Grainau is via the A12 Inntal motorway.
